Thursday 5th of March is the usual club social at the Flower Pots Inn – do come along and say hello!

Before that, this Sunday 1st March is an informal social gathering called Tea On The Tailgate meeting at Dropkick Brewery in Surrey. A contingent from the club are going and everyone’s welcome to pop along!

Due to the function room being booked we will be in the FRONT room of the Flower Potts for our February social – see you all there!

Most of you will know we run our events under the NORA licence system, which means extra paperwork at events – but if you sign up for a 2026 NORA licence you can skip the queues at ShireLRC events and knock money off your entry fee.

Their licences are renewed annually, the 2026 ones are available to order from Monday 3rd November so please go to the NORA website and get yourself a licence – it saves us paperwork and saves you form filling in a muddy field!

As we’re into the festive dining period (yes, already!) if you want to eat you will need to let us know in advance and choose your food from the menu:

Club socials are free and open to everyone, whether you’re already a member or just want to find out a bit more about the club.

Please tell your mates so they don’t end up sat at the wrong pub on Thursday evening!

Are you a sucker for a spreadsheet? Or a social planner? Or a wizz at merch organising? The committee put down their flags at this AGM and you have the opportunity to volunteer for any spot.

Please have a think about putting your name forward for a role or even just to offer your name as someone to help out on the gate for playdays. Maybe you fancy leading greenlanes. Maybe you simply fancy the benefits that come with marshalling – yes there are cheeky benefits!

We look forward to seeing you all there, and hopefully some fresh faces on the committee too.

There is a free drink token for club members attending (until we run out of tokens!) so come along, have your say in the running of the club and maybe stick your hand up to help out!

Believe it or not we’re not just about playing in the mud – there’s a whole lot of social stuff and shows the club attends and members are always welcome to bring their vehicles and show them off. It can be a great day or weekend out and people love to see Land Rovers in amongst all the shiny stuff.

The club has stands at several shows over the summer, which usually also means anyone bringing their vehicle on the stand gets discounted entry too – if you’d like to come to any of them please drop us a message or chat to one of the committee.

Upcoming shows:

• April 6th – Newbury Land Rover spares day – no discount here but going in convoy with other members means someone can watch your stand while you go bargain hunting.
• May 11th – Basingstoke Festival Of Transport – a great day out with a huge range of vehicles from bikes to tank transporters, come & show your vehicle with us!
• June 14th-15th – National 4×4 & Camper Festival – All things camper & overland, join us for a few beers round the campfire!
• June 19th-22nd – Abentur Allrad, Germany – a massive overland show in Germany, a group of us are going to see what it’s all about.
• June 21st-22nd – Thruxton Retro – Closer to home this is a great weekend of classic racing, car displays, and camping. Come and join us on the banking and maybe even for a lap of the circuit!
• July 6th – Simply Land Rover, Beaulieu – A great day out, with entry to the museum included and a wide range of Land Rovers on display. Join us on the club stand!
• August 22nd-24th – Silverstone Festival – An amazing weekend of classic racing, live music, and thousands of classic cars on display as well as a Formula 1 celebration. Join us on the club stand
