Firstly, we are running a club convoy to Slindon Safari THIS weekend (12th November) so please click here for details of that.

Second we are having the club social at a different venue in December – the Peartree Inn at Boorley Green, Botley – plus it’s curry night and we’ve got the skittle alley to play with! Click here for details & directions.

Thirdly, we are planning another convoy, this time to Picadilly Wood, a site not for those with shiny vehicles. More details on the way!

We are also booking some sites for 2024 that we haven’t been to for a long time, so stay tuned for updates!

Some of us are meeting at Tot Hill services at 8.30am to head into the Land Rover Spares day at Newbury – if you want to join in we’ll see you there.

If not – pop by the club trailer in the event to say hello and get a complimentary cuppa if you’ve got your membership card.

As a benefit to our members we have confirmed reciprocal agreements with Dorset Land Rover Club and Solent & District (SADLRC) that Shire LRC members can attend their events using their Shire membership, and members of those clubs can attend our events with their membership.

We really want to run more Green Laning days, but the club doesn’t have a lot of people who feel comfortable setting up and running one.

So we’re running some “How to run a Laning Day” coaching sessions. They’ll likely take the form of a few hours in an evening to cover the theory (how to choose routes, record them on mapping apps etc) and a half-day practical putting it into practice (safely driving the routes you’ve planned).

No previous experience needed, just a willingness to learn. You don’t even need a running truck, as we can do this in pairs.

You may not have noticed but our webmaster Chip has been very busy transferring our website over to a new provider, which means it now loads MUCH faster and works more smoothly.

This Thursday (4th May) is the club social & AGM, and we’re pleased to announce Guy Shepherd will be joining us to talk about his trips to Ukraine as well as show some of his collection of artefacts from the trips.

Join us at the King Rufus, Chandlers Ford, from about 7.30pm – all are welcome, but only current members can vote in the AGM .

Unfortunately due to local issues we’ve had to postpone next Sunday’s Bunny Lane play day.

We are hoping to re-arrange it as soon as we can, and will update as soon as we have any further news.

There is NO September event this year, the site owners are reducing the number of events to minimise damage. We will have to wait & see how this goes.
