It’s nearly that time again – we are always looking for volunteers to get involved with helping to run the club, and we have some empty slots on the committee that we’d really like to fill.
We are also looking to update the club constitution to make provision for online voting in future AGMs – please do check the proposed changes here and send any feedback to us in plenty of time for the AGM. Click here to contact us.
The AGM will be held at the club social on Thursday 2nd May 2024 at the King Rufus, Chandlers Ford.
What’s involved?
Volunteering to help need not be a big thing – even just being able to give a few hours a month could make a big difference so please don’t think it needs to take up a lot of time.
Committee Positions
Technically at the AGM all committee positions are up for grabs and you can nominate yourself or another club member if you want to.
The positions which are currently vacant are:
- Secretary
- Chief Marshal
- Green Lanes Officer
- Merchandising Officer
- Safety Officer
- PR Officer
So if you’re interested in any of these we’d love to hear from you.
There’s also always more casual helpers – marshals, green lane leaders and working party – who help events to run smoothly, so please let us know if you’d like to get involved in any of those.
Nominations
To nominate someone for a committee position they must be a paid-up member of the club and seconded by another paid-up member of the club.
If you would like to nominate someone please send their details along with the details of the member seconding them to the club secretary – secretary@shirelrc.com – by 21:00 on Monday 1st April 2024.
