Mike has been hard at work and is aiming to do a video every month covering club events – here’s the first one of the year for you to enjoy!
Category: Events (Page 1 of 3)
This is an exciting new event for us – at its core this is a relaxed weekend camping & social event for members, but we’re also throwing in some optional activities during Saturday to keep everyone entertained.
Located on a private camping site in Twyford we’re aiming for a chilled get-together with a few activities thrown in
The events calendar has just been updated and we’ve got a lot going on;
- Our new green lanes officer has wasted no time on putting dates in the diary, although exact routes always need to be confirmed nearer the time as weather & conditions allow. Check the events calendar for dates.
- We’ve got play days booked right through to 2026, including a long-awaited return to Slab Common in Bordon and our Free January 1st play day.
- Plans are afoot for an epic trip to Morocco in 2027, it’s a lot of planning and prep hence the long lead-time, check out the details here.
- The annual club BBQ social is approaching so grab the burgers and come along!
- We’re back on Youtube – Mike has been busy and made the first upload to our Youtube channel for quite some time, hopefully the first of many. If you have any photos or video you’d like to share please contact us!
There is a yellow weather warning in place on Wednesday 1st Jan for strong winds in the south of England, however since the risks are listed as small / slight we will be going ahead with our free play day.
We will of course keep an eye on things and update if anything changes – but as of the time of this post the event is still going ahead as planned.
We hope to see you all at Mannington tomorrow!
A reminder that our FREE playday on January 1st is for fully paid-up members of Shire Land Rover Club only so if you are NOT a member (or are not sure if your membership has expired) please go to:
To check and renew your membership BEFORE the event – we will NOT be processing membership applications on the day.
Also a reminder that a club membership makes a great last-minute Christmas gift!

Big thanks to everyone who made the trek to Wales for our Seven Sisters off-road weekend, it was a blast and we hope to see you again next time!
Speaking of which – we’ve got dates for next year, put these in your diary:
Summer Sisters – 22nd-23rd June 2019
Seven Sisters – 28th-29th September 2019
Online bookings for Summer Sisters 2019 will open soon!
We’d also like to thank everyone for putting pennies in the charity tin for teas & coffees in aid of Hampshire & Isle Of Wight Air Ambulance, along with the donation from the entry fee we raised over £220 in a weekend so a big pat on the back to you all!
We’ve just added two new events to the club calendar;
The first is a simple social gathering on Portsdown Hill for a burger and a mingle, the second is a leisurely visit to Dorset for some green laning and camping on the weekend of the 7th-9th September.
We hope to see you at one or both!
And of course at the club social tomorrow too!
