SUMMARY:Tea on the Tailgate - Club Meetup
DESCRIPTION:This is a social meetup organised by Tea On The Tailgate on Facebook\, a group of us will be popping along to see what it’s all about and most importantly have a cup of tea on the tailgate of a Land Rover or two!\n\n\nThere’s no ticketing or anything so just turn up – if you want to join with the Shire group going along please get in touch by the any of the usual means to coordinate with the others who are going.\n\n\nWe are also planning to head out on to Salisbury Plain in the afternoon for some green laning so please click here for details if you’re interested in joining.\n\n\nTo quote the organiser:\n\n\nI had the idea to hold some socials for local enthusiasts\, So i created the Instagram page @tea_on_the_tailgate\, this rapidly grew and it became obvious people all over were following and not just local.\n\nI got chatting to a great guy wanting to hold events in Hampshire so the idea evolved into regional groups under the umbrella of tea on the tailgate.\nSo on Instagram we now have @tea_on_the_tailgate_dorset\, @tea_on_the_tailgate_hampshire and hopefully soon tea_on_the_tailgate_shropshire.\nEach sub group is run by local enthusiastic individuals running them pretty much how they see fit. The philosophy is\n\nAny Land Rover welcome freelanders\, series\, discos old and new even new defenders or range rovers. – if yours is off the road come along anyway. I should say that abuse isn’t tolerated and event organisers would be in their right to ask someone to leave. There’s no judgement here on what people do with their vehicles. The reason we love land rovers is the versatility\, endless modification options and reliability \nThere’s no charge for attending events. The aim is not to charge but if there are car parking fees that’s a cost the individual pays.\nPeople bring their own refreshments however I’m keen to support charities where possible and organisers may chose to provide something for a small charitable donation.\nI hope organisers will Choose to produce stickers of their logo. I’m hoping this will be something for people to collect from different meets they attend. DESCRIPTION:This is a great site – a military training area with sandy soil\, some good mud sections & holes and a few twisty bits between the trees as well as some large open areas which are ideal for those wanting to avoid damage. And\, as we discovered last time out – some big holes ready to swallow the unwary\, so look before you leap! \nNote that due to the cost of hiring the site entry will be £35 for ShireLRC members and affiliated clubs\, and £40 for non-members.
