SUMMARY:Shire Summer Games & Camping Weekend
DESCRIPTION:This is an exciting new event for us – at its core this is a relaxed weekend camping & social event for members\, but we’re also throwing in some optional activities during Saturday to keep everyone entertained. \nPeople can come & go as they please all weekend and are free to join in or just spectate\, the ticket is a flat rate per vehicle for the whole weekend. \n\nFriday – Arrive on site from 4pm\, we’re hoping to have a communal bonfire in the evening.\nSaturday – activities during the day followed by an optional BBQ in the evening\, we provide the BBQ + fire and everyone can bring whatever they want to throw on it.\nSunday – we’re hoping to organise a green lane run for those who are interested\n\nActivities we are planning to run on Saturday: \n\nA Land Rover / truck pull\nTrailer reversing\nDriving course\nBlind drive of faith\nDisco tilt challenge\n\nPlease book tickets via Eventbrite here.

DESCRIPTION:Show off your Land Rover at Silverstone!\nWe’re really rather excited about this – the Shire Land Rover Club have got a stand at Silverstone Classic 2025 – three days of classic cars from every era\, racing on-track and on show\, full pit lane access all round\, plus live music in the evenings\, a FREE fun-fair for the kids\, air displays\, and loads of other stuff. \nAs an invited car club we get a much reduced rate AND you get to park your Land Rover on the club stand in amongst the Ferraris and Porsches and whatnot. \n \nThe package price is for TWO PEOPLE in ONE VEHICLE and is a big discount off the regular ticket price. Members MUST be on-site by 10am and cannot leave site until 5pm\, there are usually queues to get in so PLEASE allow an extra half an hour in the morning! \nThis is open strictly to Shire LRC members only.\n \nUse the following car club codes when booking: \n\nTax Exempt / pre-1984 classics: TBC – Please contact us.\nEveryone else:  TBC – Please contact us.\n\nThe Shire LRC group are camping in the official camping at the Silverstone Golf Club. DESCRIPTION:A group of club members are planning  road trip to Europe’s largest overland show – Abentur Allrad in Germany. This is a truly huge event with a wide variety of off-road and overland vehicles\, displays\, and vendors. \nWith over 350 exhibitors from all over the world\, we have been one of the most important expos in the off-road\, caravanning and overlanding scene for years. A huge selection awaits you here: 4×4 production vehicles\, quads\, ATVs\, pick-ups\, customised expedition and motorhomes\, spare parts\, accessories\, tents\, comprehensive travel equipment and innovations in sustainability and e-mobility. \nWith motorhomes and expedition vehicles from all over the world and thousands of visitors\, the ABENTEUER & ALLRAD CAMP AREA has become one of the largest and most spectacular long-distance travelling events in the world.\nGuests travel in traditional expedition vehicles such as Unimog and Hanomag as well as in pick-up camper vans and bush taxis from all continents of the world. From Australia\, New Zealand and Mexico as well as Brazil and Mongolia. \nThe CAMP AREA at ABENTEUER & ALLRAD has long since become a kind of ‘Woodstock’ of the off-road scene. This is where people sit together in the evening\, swap stories and share their dreams of the magic of distant worlds\, of travelling and expeditions to the most beautiful and exotic destinations on earth. \nThe site is about 750km / 460 Miles from Calais. \nSome will be heading off directly from the club stand at Adventure Overland the weekend before\, others will be crossing Wednesday evening / Thursday morning and driving it in one hit on the Thursday. You’re welcome to join with any group or make your own way and meet us there. \nPlease contact us to express your interest. DESCRIPTION:You may not be aware but Dunsfold Collection is home to the largest Land Rover collection in the world – with a huge variety of rare Land Rovers including all manner of prototypes and specialist one-offs. \nThe Camel Trophy Owners Club have very kindly opened up their special visit to Shire LRC members so if you missed our previous visit or you’d like to see some rare Camel Trophy exhibits and maybe even chat to a few legends\, get yourself along! \n\nMembers of Shire LRC are invited to join Camel Trophy Club’s visit to the prestigious Dunsfold Collection museum which takes place on Saturday 19th October 2024. \nThe museum houses displays of up to 40 rare vehicles on rotation from the total of 136 in the care of the Dunsfold Collection. The museum also contains an unrivalled archive of Land Rover brochures\, publicity material\, manuals\, handbooks\, photographs\, drawings and magazines\, as well as a vast display of Land Rover memorabilia\, together with the extraordinary John Parker collection of over 2\,000 Land Rover models and toys.Members can arrive from lunchtime\, when we expect drinks and snacks to be available.  A guided tour of the museum will take place in the afternoon\, culminating in the unveiling of a unique display of priceless Camel Trophy artefacts forming part of a new exhibit.Camel Trophy VIPs including Nick Horne (Event Director)\, Bob & Joe Ives (Team UK ’89) and Nick Dimbleby (CT Photographer) will be present at the event and will give an evening presentation\, which we know will be a highlight of the season after the sell-out Camel Trophy talk at Dunsfold earlier this year.  The presentation will be at the nearby Springbok Estate where there will be a bar and a subsidised buffet.To book your ticket for the event\, please follow these instructions… \n\nVisit the Dunsfold Collection website at www.dunsfoldcollection.co.uk/donation.\nSelect “Donate now” and make a £20 donation for each adult ticket required (note: under-13s are free) and make sure you reference Camel Trophy Club in the “Your comment” box.\nFinally\, send an email to events@cameltrophyclub.com stating your name\, contact telephone and email\, number of adult tickets purchased\, number of under-13s requested\, and if you will be staying for the buffet.\n\nFor planning purposes the event is ticket-only and tickets will be checked on the door.  Please respect the museum by adhering to this. \nA range of accommodation options are available at the Springbok Estate so why not extend your trip to make it a weekend to remember! \n\nGuest rooms – The Club has secured a special rate of £65/room/night for double/twin rooms which can be booked by phoning 01403 759630 during office hours or emailing d.burgess@careashore.org. See breakfast options below.\nCamping – A pitch on grass (no electrical hook up) with access to toilets and showers is £20/pitch/night and can be booked by phoning 01403 759630 during office hours or emailing d.burgess@careashore.org.  See breakfast options below.\nCamping – A pitch on hardstanding with electrical hookup is £27/pitch/night and can be booked online via the pitchup.com website.  See breakfast options below.\nBreakfast is available but you must book this in advance when you arrange your accommodation.  A cooked breakfast is £7.50 (Saturday)\, £8.50 (Sunday) and a basic continental breakfast is available on Monday for £4.\n\nWe look forward to seeing as many people as possible at the event!
