Are you a sucker for a spreadsheet? Or a social planner? Or a wizz at merch organising? The committee put down their flags at this AGM and you have the opportunity to volunteer for any spot.
Please have a think about putting your name forward for a role or even just to offer your name as someone to help out on the gate for playdays. Maybe you fancy leading greenlanes. Maybe you simply fancy the benefits that come with marshalling – yes there are cheeky benefits!
We look forward to seeing you all there, and hopefully some fresh faces on the committee too.
There is a free drink token for club members attending (until we run out of tokens!) so come along, have your say in the running of the club and maybe stick your hand up to help out!
Believe it or not we’re not just about playing in the mud – there’s a whole lot of social stuff and shows the club attends and members are always welcome to bring their vehicles and show them off. It can be a great day or weekend out and people love to see Land Rovers in amongst all the shiny stuff.
The club has stands at several shows over the summer, which usually also means anyone bringing their vehicle on the stand gets discounted entry too – if you’d like to come to any of them please drop us a message or chat to one of the committee.
Upcoming shows:
Thanks to the efforts of our events officer we have already got a pretty busy calendar for 2025 including plenty of off-road fun, social events, as well as shows big & small at home and abroad.
You can scroll through our full calendar here, and we will of course be promoting events on Facebook and Instagram as they roll around.
You can also subscribe to our monthly e-mails, if you are a member and you are not receiving e-mails either sign up here or please contact us if there’s any problems.
Due to last-minute food supply problems at the pub we have moved the social to Thursday 9th of Jan – we apologise for the short notice but were only made aware of this the day before.
New date , directions, etc here: https://www.shirelrc.com/event/january-club-social-2025/
We hope to see you all there!
If you are coming to our free members-only playday on the 1st of Jan or you’re gifting someone a club membership, please note that our lovely membership secretary is having a well-deserved break over the holidays – if you join or renew online you will instantly be a member & will be on our membership list but membership cards will not be posted out until the new year.
PAYPAL PROBLEMS?
Some members have reported having problems with PayPal, we are looking into it – if you are trying to join and experience problems please drop us a message and we will make sure you are all sorted in time!
We look forward to seeing you all at Mannington on the 1st!
Just a reminder that you don’t have to book online but it does make life easier – it’s always possible to arrive & pay on the day.
For those booking online please visit: slrc.eventbrite.com

Please get your nominations in ASAP and we’ll see you at the December social for the glittering* awards ceremony.

Due to the pubs being very busy, December’s social is on WEDNESDAY the 4th of December at the usual venue – the King Rufus. See you all there!
For any club to survive a committee is required. The committee makes decisions as a collective group and hold joint responsibility for decisions and actions taken. The committee is responsible for ensuring that all decisions are taken in the best interests of the club.
The Shire committee meet once a month and organise events from green lane days to weekend events. We look after the club’s income and expenditure plus many more tasks that keep the club functioning for all the members to enjoy.
At present there are five vacancies on the committee:
If you are interested in helping with any of the roles above and want more information then please contact us.
